Fish broth (dashi), soy sauce, and miso are featured in most Japanese cooking. It is not possible to accommodate the following dietary restrictions on this tour: vegan, fish allergy, vegetarian (unless food made with dashi, a fish based stock, are acceptable), and gluten intolerance (due to wheat in miso and soy sauce). Shellfish allergies can be accommodated.
During our stay along the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route, you will be assigned at random to either a Japanese-style room (with comfortable futons on tatami-mat floors) or a Western-style room (with two twin beds). If you prefer one or the other, please let us know.
For solo travelers requesting a single room, private single rooms are not available at one of the accomodations for 3 nights. You may be matched with a roommate of the same gender for this hotel stay.
For guests requesting a shared bed, there is one accomodation along the Kumono Kodo where only two bedded rooms are available.
